airbag control unit repair Alpine A110
What should be considered with Alpine airbag control units?
Which airbag control unit is fitted in your Alpine depends on the model and year of manufacture. We repair airbag control units on a send-in basis in our workshop in Berlin: you send us the removed unit, we test it and, where necessary, erase the crash data.
Alpine is a French sports car brand from Dieppe. The company was founded in 1955 and is now part of the Renault Group. The airbag control unit evaluates the signals from the crash sensors and decides in an accident which airbags and belt pretensioners are triggered. Its correct function is therefore essential for occupant protection.
A defective airbag control unit usually shows itself through a permanently lit airbag warning light. After an accident, crash data is also stored in the unit and has to be erased. The airbag is safety-critical: have any work on the airbag system carried out only by a specialist workshop, and never try to deactivate the system yourself.
Which Alpine models are there?
For Alpine we currently list the A110, A290 and A390 in the shop. The airbag control units differ by model and series, so exact matching is important.
- Alpine A110
- Alpine A290
- Alpine A390
Alpine's range runs from the classic sports coupé to the new electric models. The A110 was delivered from 2017 after the brand was revived, the A290 followed in 2024 as an electric compact performance car, and the A390 was presented in 2025 as a five-seat sports fastback.
Whatever the model, please give us the part number of your control unit when you enquire, so that we can assign the right repair.
How do I identify my Alpine airbag control unit?
You can identify Alpine airbag control units by the part number on the unit's label. Together with the model, year of manufacture and vehicle identification number (VIN), this lets us determine the right unit unambiguously.
You will find the part number on the type plate or label of the control unit. The installation location differs from model to model. Removal belongs in the hands of a specialist workshop because the airbag system is safety-critical.
If the diagnosis reports fault code U0151, communication with the airbag control unit (restraint system) has been lost. This can point to a defective control unit, but wiring or connectors are also possible causes. A professional diagnosis clarifies where the fault lies.
What airbag equipment does Alpine have?
The airbag equipment of an Alpine depends on the model, year of manufacture and trim. In general, modern vehicles commonly have front, side and curtain airbags; consult your vehicle documentation to see which of these are fitted in your car.
The control unit links the crash sensors with the airbags and the belt system. If it is defective, the airbag warning light stays on and deployment is no longer reliably ensured.
