For the Ford Taunus TC series (TC1, TC2, TC3), produced from autumn 1970 to summer 1982, it should be noted that these vehicles were not equipped with airbags ex works. Airbags were not yet offered as standard or optional equipment in mid-size vehicles during this production period.
The Ford Taunus TC, a popular rear-wheel-drive mid-size car, was designed with a strong body structure and seatbelts as its primary safety features. Airbag technology began to be developed later, and its widespread use did not begin until the mid-1980s and 1990s, well after the end of production of the Ford Taunus TC.
