What should be considered for Lamborghini Sián airbag control units?

The airbag control unit is the central unit of the airbag system. It evaluates the crash sensors, triggers airbags and belt tensioners and monitors the entire system. If it detects a fault, the airbag warning light in the instrument cluster shows it.

In the Sián, the control unit is permanently installed in the vehicle. In a collision, it measures deceleration and impact and decides within milliseconds whether the airbags must deploy. If the airbag warning light stays on permanently, the system should be checked.

The Lamborghini Sián was built in two series: as a coupé with the designation FKP 37 and as a roadster. Both series were produced from 2019 to 2022.

How do I identify my Lamborghini Sián airbag control unit?

The part number on the label of the control unit determines the exact version. In addition, the year of manufacture and equipment of the Sián should be checked so that the unit can be assigned unambiguously.

The vehicle identification number (VIN) and the year of manufacture help with the comparison. A mix-up with another unit can lead to malfunctions. Therefore, the part number, year of manufacture and VIN should be compared before you create a repair order.

A fault entry in the fault memory alone does not prove a defect in the control unit. Only the inspection in the workshop shows what the cause is.

What airbag equipment does the Lamborghini Sián have?
