What does error code 2079 indicate in the airbag control unit?
In most cases, error code 2079 on an Alfa Romeo Spider 916 points to an internal hardware fault within the airbag control unit (SRS). Alternatively, it may signal a severe communication issue, where the control unit can no longer communicate with other system components or with the diagnostic tool. In this state, the system is deactivated.

Components such as a defective steering wheel coil spring or faulty airbag connectors can likewise contribute to issues that the control unit interprets as an internal fault—even though error code 2079 clearly focuses on the control unit itself.
