Error code 3152 points to a specific fault in the airbag control unit, typically related to communication issues or an internal software malfunction. This error often occurs in older vehicles and signals that the control unit can no longer reliably perform its safety‑critical functions, causing the airbag warning light to illuminate.
Technically speaking, error 3152 indicates that the internal logic of the airbag control unit (ACU) has detected an inconsistent state. This may be caused by a disruption in communication with other vehicle components or by a fault within the unit’s own software.
Common triggers include voltage fluctuations—such as those caused by a weak or aging vehicle battery—or extended periods of inactivity. These conditions can push the control unit’s software into an undefined state, resulting in error code 3152.

First and foremost are communication errors between the airbag control unit and other systems in the vehicle. Such disruptions can impair the proper functioning of the unit’s internal software.
