What does error code 56_70 mean in the airbag control unit?
Error code 56_70 indicates a serious internal electronic fault in the airbag control unit (ACU). Typically, this is a hardware issue caused by defective components on the main circuit board, which compromises the functionality of the entire safety system. The module can no longer ensure proper deployment of the airbags.
This error code is stored when the control unit’s internal self-test detects an irreparable fault. The microprocessor identifies inconsistencies within its own circuits, such as incorrect voltage readings, short circuits, or faulty integrated circuits (ICs). As a safety precaution, the entire airbag system is deactivated to prevent unintended deployment.
