Error code 59_70 indicates an internal, repairable memory fault in the airbag control unit, specifically occurring in VW Amarok 2H models. This is a hardware defect on the circuit board, often caused by damaged memory chips (EEPROM/Flash), faulty SMD components, or permanently stored crash data that blocks the system.
Technically, this error does not point to a software issue but rather to a physical malfunction within the electronics. In the control unit (often designated as J234), components such as resistors, capacitors, or MOSFETs may fail. Likewise, conductive traces can corrode or become disconnected, preventing proper internal communication and the correct functioning of the safety systems.
The control unit registers this inconsistency as a critical fault, disables the airbag function, and activates the warning light to alert the driver.
