As a result, the entire airbag system is deactivated as a precautionary measure.
Technically speaking, the airbag control unit continuously processes signals from various crash sensors in the vehicle. When error 801011 occurs, this signal processing is disrupted. The control unit performs a self-diagnosis at every start-up; if an internal, non-repairable fault is detected, the code is permanently stored in the fault memory.
