Error code 80D6 in Porsche airbag control units signals a critical internal hardware defect, typically affecting the ignition unit (trigger unit) for the airbags and seatbelt pretensioners. This defect results in permanent storage of crash data, locks the control unit, and interrupts communication, thereby deactivating the entire airbag system for safety reasons.
