Error code 9076 reports that communication over the CAN bus is disrupted. The affected item is the data connection over which the airbag control unit exchanges information with other control units in the vehicle, and the control unit stores the fault and switches on the airbag warning light.

The code therefore relates to the connection between the control units, not to a single component. Whether the airbag control unit itself or a cable is affected is only clarified by the inspection.
