What does error code B0106 mean?

Error code B0106 indicates an open circuit in the P‑squib, typically associated with the passenger airbag. The airbag control unit detects a break in the electrical circuit leading to the ignition device. This results in deactivation of the affected airbag circuit and poses a significant safety risk, as the airbag will not deploy in the event of a crash.

This error code is stored by the SRS control unit (Supplemental Restraint System) when the resistance in the passenger airbag’s ignition circuit falls outside the manufacturer‑specified tolerance range. An open circuit means no current can flow, physically preventing the airbag from deploying.

The system continuously performs self‑tests. As soon as such a break is detected, the control unit immediately illuminates the airbag warning light to alert the driver to this critical system fault.

What symptoms indicate B0106?
