What does error code B0150 mean?

Error code B0150 typically indicates an internal fault or a communication/sensor sub‑fault in the airbag control unit (SRS ECU). During its self‑diagnosis, the control unit detected a serious anomaly in its own hardware or in a closely coupled subsystem and has deactivated itself for safety reasons.

Technically speaking, this means the control unit can no longer guarantee 100% functionality. The root cause is often directly on the module’s circuit board—such as a defective electronic component—and therefore it is not simply a software issue.

Depending on the vehicle manufacturer, the exact definition may vary slightly, but the core message remains the same: the central control element of the occupant protection system has been compromised. At the electronic level, tiny SMD components often lose their function due to aging, thermal stress, or voltage fluctuations. Repair requires microelectronic expertise and specialized equipment.
