What does error code B0428 mean in the airbag control unit?
Error code B0428 indicates a specific electronic fault in the airbag control unit. The cause is usually a hardware issue, such as damaged connectors, defective sensors, or crash data stored after an accident that locks the system. A professional electronic diagnosis and repair are absolutely necessary to resolve this issue.
The airbag control unit is the central control module of the vehicle’s passive safety system. It continuously receives and processes signals from various sensors, including crash sensors and seat‑occupancy sensors. In the event of a collision, it decides within milliseconds whether to deploy the airbags and activate the seatbelt pretensioners.
