What does error code B1329 mean?

Error code B1329 indicates a communication fault between the airbag control unit (ECU) and the front impact sensor. The ECU cannot receive or transmit valid data from the sensor, which compromises the functionality of the entire restraint system. The airbag warning light illuminates to alert the driver to this safety-critical condition.

Technically speaking, this means that data transmission on the line between the sensor and the ECU is interrupted or disrupted. The airbag control unit performs a self-diagnosis at every system start-up. If it detects no response or an erroneous response from the front impact sensor, error code B1329 is stored in the fault memory, and the system is deactivated for safety reasons.
