What does error code B1B22 mean?
Error code B1B22 indicates a specific fault in the airbag system, directly detected by the airbag control unit. It points to a malfunction either within the control unit’s electronics or in connected components such as sensors and wiring. As a result, the airbag warning light illuminates to alert the driver that the safety system is not operational.
The airbag control unit is the central control module of the passive safety system. It continuously processes signals from various sensors—such as crash sensors, seat‑occupancy sensors, and weight‑detection sensors—to ensure proper deployment of airbags and seatbelt pretensioners in the event of a collision.
If error code B1B22 is stored in the fault memory, it means the control unit has detected an electrical or electronic anomaly that prevents reliable operation.
