What does error code B1C14 indicate in the airbag control unit?
Error code B1C14 signals a serious internal fault in the airbag control unit. Typically, this involves a memory issue or a hardware defect, often caused after an accident by non-erasable crash data or by the failure of electronic components on the circuit board.
From an electronic standpoint, this means the control unit has detected an internal malfunction, such as in a memory chip or the power supply. The system then switches to a safety mode to prevent erroneous deployment of the airbags.
This code is particularly specific and is often diagnosed directly on units with part number B1C14, indicating a defect at the heart of the module.
How can you recognize error code B1C14?
The most obvious symptom of error code B1C14 is a permanently illuminated airbag warning light on the instrument panel.
