Error code B2000 49 signals a severe, internal electronic fault in the airbag control unit. This code explicitly points to a hardware defect or an irreparable memory error, not to a configuration or software issue. As a result, the entire airbag system deactivates to prevent malfunctions, leaving the vehicle no longer safe.
Technically speaking, this error means that the control unit’s internal self-diagnosis has detected a critical anomaly on the circuit board. This could be a defective microprocessor, a damaged memory chip (EEPROM), or a problem with the internal power supply. The control unit then enters a locked, irreversible fault state.
This error code is often a catch-all term for unspecified internal defects. Consequently, diagnostic logs may also display alternative codes such as 0485833, 10485833, or the classic control unit fault code 65535. All of these point to the same underlying cause: the control unit is internally damaged and must be repaired or replaced.
How can you recognize error B2000 49?
