What does error code B51 mean in the airbag control unit?
Error code B51, commonly found in control units with the identical part number B51, indicates a serious internal hardware fault. This error prevents the entire SRS system from functioning correctly and is typically triggered by defective electronic components on the circuit board, such as capacitors or memory chips.
From an electronic standpoint, this means the control unit’s self-diagnostic system has detected a critical fault within its own circuitry. As a safety precaution, the unit automatically enters a passive, locked state to prevent any unintended deployment of the airbags.
