What does error code C0185 mean?
Error code C0185 indicates a specific internal fault in the airbag control unit. This code does not point to a simple software issue; rather, it usually signals problems with the hardware or with data stored in the control unit that are detected during the system’s self‑test.
Technically, the control unit logs this error when it detects an internal malfunction. Such issues can range from faulty sensor inputs and damaged circuit traces to corrupted memory areas. The system then switches to a safety mode to prevent unintended airbag deployment, which is indicated by the warning light remaining steadily illuminated.
