What does the error code “Deployment Commanded” mean?
The error code “Deployment Commanded” indicates that the airbag control unit has issued a command to deploy one or more airbags. At the same time, a “loop error” is often logged, pointing to a fault or interruption in the corresponding deployment circuit. This means the system intends to trigger but cannot do so due to an electrical issue.
Technically speaking, this means the control unit has sent a signal to ignite the seatbelt pretensioners or airbags—either triggered by an actual crash or by an internal malfunction. The addition of a loop error, such as with related codes B0051 or B0053, specifies that the circuit supplying power to the ignition device is faulty.
This condition puts the control unit into a safety mode. The airbag warning light remains steadily illuminated, and the entire restraint system is disabled until the fault is resolved, as proper deployment cannot be guaranteed.
