What does error code DF210 mean in the airbag control unit?

Error code DF210 reports a fault in the circuit of the seatbelt pretensioners at the front seatbelt buckles. The airbag control unit has detected an open circuit, a short circuit or a configuration error, stores the entry and switches on the airbag warning light.

The pretensioners at the seatbelt buckles tighten the belt in an accident, and the control unit triggers them. To make sure this works when it matters, the control unit monitors the associated circuit continuously. If the monitoring reports a deviation, this part of the restraint system is treated as unavailable.

This meaning applies to Renault. For other makes, the same code may refer to something different.

How do you recognise error code DF210?

The fault shows up as a permanently lit airbag warning light in the instrument cluster. The code is read out with a diagnostic tool, it is then found in the fault memory of the airbag control unit and returns after being cleared.

How is error code DF210 resolved?
