What does error code ENG. 1256 mean?
Error code ENG. 1256 indicates a serious internal electronic fault in the airbag control unit (SRS) of the Chrysler Town & Country NS. This hardware failure prevents the entire restraint system from functioning correctly, as the control unit can no longer perform its monitoring and deployment functions and switches to a safety mode.
Technically speaking, this error points to damage on the control unit’s circuit board. Possible causes include defective components such as capacitors, short circuits between traces, or faults in the memory chips responsible for operational data.
