What does error code U0154 mean?

Error code U0154 indicates a complete loss of communication between the central airbag control unit and the Occupant Classification Module (OCM). This fault in the CAN bus network interrupts the data transmission essential for the proper functioning of the airbags, which rely on seat occupancy and weight detection.

Technically speaking, this means that the airbag control unit is no longer receiving data from the OCM. The OCM is responsible for determining whether a seat is occupied and the occupant’s weight, in order to adjust the airbags’ deployment strategy.
