Error code U112200 indicates a critical communication fault in the vehicle’s CAN bus network. Specifically, it means that the airbag control unit is receiving an implausible or missing message from another control unit, such as the ABS or the adaptive cruise control system. This triggers the activation of the airbag warning light and often results in the deactivation of the entire airbag system.
Technically speaking, there is a malfunction on the CAN data bus. The airbag module relies on correct signals from other system components to remain operational at all times. If this data transmission is disrupted, the control unit cannot guarantee its proper function and, for safety reasons, switches into an error state.
