The airbag control unit 89170-52J10 coordinates the restraint system (SRS) in the Toyota. It measures deceleration via the crash sensors, assesses it within fractions of a second and, in an emergency, triggers the appropriate airbags and seatbelt pretensioners. After an accident it stores crash data and locks itself.
