What does the airbag control unit 95910-BF100 do?

The airbag control unit 95910-BF100 is the central control unit of the restraint system (SRS) at Hyundai. It evaluates the signals from the impact sensors, decides within fractions of a second whether airbags and seatbelt pretensioners are triggered in a crash, and monitors the system continuously. Faults that are detected are shown on the airbag warning light.

After an accident the control unit stores crash data and then locks itself. The lock is only lifted by a repair.
