What is an Audi Q6 e-tron 1st generation airbag control unit?

In the Audi Q6 e-tron 1st generation, the airbag control unit is the central control unit of the restraint system (SRS): it evaluates the signals from the crash sensors and, in an accident, decides within milliseconds which airbags and seatbelt pretensioners fire. At the same time it continuously monitors the whole system and indicates faults via the airbag warning light.

The control unit is fitted in the Audi Q6 e-tron 1st generation (since 2024) and works with the sensors, the squib circuits and the airbag modules as one connected safety system, constantly checking its components for function and correct connection.
