What is a Leapmotor B10 airbag control unit?

The airbag control unit in the Leapmotor B10 is the central control unit of the restraint system (SRS). It checks itself and the entire system at every start and monitors it continuously afterwards, reports faults via the airbag warning light and, in an accident, decides within milliseconds which airbags and seatbelt pretensioners deploy. After an accident it stores crash data and locks itself.

In everyday use you notice little of this: when the ignition is switched on, the airbag warning light comes on briefly and goes out again as soon as the self-test has finished without any findings.
