What is a Volvo EX30 Serie 1 airbag control unit?

In the Volvo EX30 Serie 1, the airbag control unit is the central control unit of the restraint system (SRS). It evaluates the signals from the crash sensors, deploys the appropriate airbags and seatbelt pretensioners in an emergency, and indicates faults via the airbag warning light. After an accident it stores crash data and locks itself.

The control unit is fitted in the Volvo EX30 Serie 1 model series (since 2023).
