Skoda Elroq airbag control unit repair(1)
1 product

What should I keep in mind about Skoda Elroq airbag control units?
The airbag control unit of the Skoda Elroq evaluates the crash sensors, triggers the airbags and belt tensioners, and monitors the entire airbag system. If it detects a fault, the airbag warning light comes on.
In a crash, the control unit decides which airbags are triggered. To do this, it monitors the connected components and stores detected faults in the fault memory.
After an accident, the control unit stores crash data and locks itself. Airbag24 repairs the control unit you send in and deletes the crash data as part of the repair.
The airbag system is safety-relevant. Work on the control unit and the airbag system should therefore be left to a specialist workshop.
Which Skoda Elroq generations are there?
So far, one series is recorded for the Skoda Elroq: series 1, built since 2025. The series is still in production.
The Elroq is a fully electric compact SUV from Skoda. Within one series, the design of the control unit can differ depending on model year and equipment.
- 1 (from 2025, still in production) – the series covered in this overview
The series is the first point of reference. The part number and model year remain decisive.
How do I identify my Skoda Elroq airbag control unit?
The part number on the label of the control unit determines the exact version. Together with the model year and equipment of your Elroq, the matching control unit can be identified.
The label is therefore the first point of reference. The model year and the vehicle identification number (VIN) of your Elroq also help, because versions can differ within one series.
Fault codes give a first indication. Examples are:
- 00595: crash data stored, airbags and belt tensioners triggered
- U0151: communication with airbag control unit lost
- 65535: airbag control unit faulty (internal fault)
A single fault code does not prove a defect, however. Only reading out the fault memory and the inspection show whether the control unit is affected. Interpreting a fault code therefore belongs with a specialist workshop that reads out the fault memory in full.
What airbag equipment does the Skoda Elroq have?
As standard, the Skoda Elroq has driver and front passenger airbags, head airbags, front side airbags and a central airbag between the front seats. Rear side airbags are optional, and up to nine airbags can be fitted in total.
Which airbags are actually fitted in your vehicle depends on the market and trim level. The equipment list of your vehicle provides this information. We are happy to help if you have questions about the equipment of your vehicle.
The route to repair usually works like this:
- Have the fault memory read out
- Have the battery disconnected and the control unit removed by a specialist workshop
- Create a repair order online
- Send the control unit to Airbag24
Processing usually takes 3–4 working days: we check the control unit, repair it and test it. The repaired control unit comes back with all vehicle data and is ready for immediate use after refitting — no coding or programming is required.
