Toyota Solara airbag control unit repair(1)
1 product

What should be considered with Toyota Solara airbag control units?
The airbag control unit in the Toyota Solara evaluates the crash sensors, triggers the airbags and belt tensioners in an accident and monitors the entire system. If it detects a fault, the airbag warning light comes on.
After an accident, the control unit stores crash data and locks itself. A defective control unit can impair the function of the entire airbag system. As the airbag system is safety-relevant, testing and repair belong in the hands of a specialist workshop.
Airbag24 repairs the control unit you send in, your own unit from your Toyota Solara, at our workshop in Berlin. Whether a specific defect can be fixed is determined by an individual check.
Which Toyota Solara generations are there?
Our shop currently lists the ACV30 series for the Toyota Solara. It was built from 2004 to 2008.
The series includes coupé and convertible versions. Build year and chassis number (VIN) help with the classification, so you can check whether your Toyota Solara belongs to this series.

How do I identify my Toyota Solara airbag control unit?
The part number on the label of the control unit determines the exact version. The build year and equipment of your vehicle help to find the matching number.
The label is located on the control unit itself. Compare the part number with the following numbers, which are listed in our shop for the ACV30 series. The list does not claim to be complete.
- Part number 89170-06230
- Part number 89170-06231
- Part number 89170-06232
- Part number 89170-06241
- Part number 89170-06242
- Part number 89170-06240
Denso is listed as the supplier. Typical fault codes from our product data are B1800 (driver airbag ignition circuit faulty, short circuit), B1805 (passenger airbag ignition circuit faulty, short circuit) and U0151 (communication with the airbag control unit lost).
A fault code alone does not prove a defect. Only reading out the fault memory and the check show whether the control unit itself is affected.
What airbag equipment does the Toyota Solara have?
The airbag equipment of the Toyota Solara depends on build year and trim level. Which modules are fitted in your vehicle is shown by the factory equipment of that vehicle.
An airbag system of this kind typically includes front airbags for driver and front passenger. Depending on the equipment, side, head or knee airbags are added. The control unit triggers these modules and monitors their circuits.
A general statement on equipment is therefore not possible. Before sending the unit in, it is worth checking the factory equipment of your specific vehicle.
This is how the control unit gets to the repair:
- Have the fault memory read out at a specialist workshop.
- Have the battery disconnected and the control unit removed by the specialist workshop.
- Create a repair order online.
- Send the control unit to Airbag24.
Processing usually takes 3–4 working days and comprises testing, repairing and checking. The repaired control unit returns with all vehicle data and is ready for use straight after reinstallation — no coding or programming is necessary.
