What is a Peugeot 5008 III airbag control unit?

The airbag control unit in the Peugeot 5008 III (since 2024) is the central control unit of the restraint system (SRS). It evaluates the signals from the crash sensors and, in an accident, decides within milliseconds which airbags and seatbelt pretensioners to deploy.

It also monitors the system continuously and reports faults via the airbag warning light. This is the most important indication for you of whether the restraint system is ready.
