From the first phone call, the order processing, to the shipping everything was done very quickly and professionally. Now I still have to send the repaired unit to the Swedish workshop and then hopefully the Honda can finally pass the HU there again (failed because of the red light for the airbag). Today the message came from SWE, the car is running again, the red light is off and the HU was also passed. Once again many thanks for the help in need. Keep it up and maybe word will also spread in SWE that Airbag 24 does great work. Regards Gerd

What is a Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace BW2 airbag control unit?
The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace BW2 airbag control unit is the central safety unit that activates all occupant restraint systems, such as airbags and seatbelt pretensioners, in the event of an accident. It continuously monitors various sensors, stores relevant crash data, and thus ensures the proper functioning and instantaneous deployment of all passive safety systems in the vehicle.
This MRS (Multiple Restraint System) control unit operates at 12 volts. It is crucial for coordinating the safety systems in the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace from model year 2017 onwards.
The control unit is typically located in the center console or under the dashboard. It features multi-pin connectors for connecting to various sensors and actuators in the vehicle's safety system.
Why is the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace BW2 airbag control unit defective?
A Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace BW2 airbag control unit often fails due to internal software or hardware errors that lead to system malfunctions. Crash data stored after an accident also necessitates a Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace BW2 airbag control unit repair, as this data blocks the reactivation of the safety systems and thus triggers an error message.
Common causes are internal memory corruption or errors in the checksum of the control unit itself. Such defects are often indicated by an error code B2000 and lead to a continuous warning light on the dashboard.
Communication errors with other vehicle modules can also cause a failure. This prevents the control unit from sending or receiving correct data, severely impairing or even preventing its function.
Common error codes for Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace BW2 airbag control unit repair
Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace BW2 airbag control unit repair is often initiated by specific error codes that indicate internal malfunctions or communication issues within the unit. These codes are crucial for a precise diagnosis and identifying the exact cause of the defect before a repair can be initiated.
- B1000: Control unit communication error → Signal error → General miscommunication of the airbag control unit.
- B2000: Electronic control unit error (Memory Check Sum Error) → Internal error → Damaged memory in the airbag control unit.
- U1110: Function restricted due to interrupted communication → Communication aborted → Missing connection to other systems (e.g. BAP_SWA).
- U1121: Databus: Missing messages, no communication with airbag control unit → Databus error → No communication via the databus with the airbag control unit.
What part numbers are available for the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace BW2 airbag control unit repair?
